In A Heartbeat

A life flashes, a life fades
A life goes off like a hand grenade
A life is broken, a life is made
In a heartbeat

In a heartbeat I knew
There was no forgetting you
But if you want I’ll pretend to
In a heartbeat

In a heartbeat I’ll make
The unforgivable mistake
Give me your hopes and watch them break
In a heartbeat

In a heartbeat lives turn
Inside out, crash and burn
All these twists can’t be unturned
In a heartbeat

You know my heart as well as me
You know how soft this thing can be
You know I’d give it to you free
In a heartbeat

There’s a place in there for you
No matter what you do
You just looked at me and knew
In a heartbeat
