“If there’s more life after death I bet I’ll like that too.”
There are a lot of things in life that are painful or unfair. Most people are too caught up in the web of their own pain or injustice to help you with yours. So, when you find someone who is kind, who wants to make you feel better as much as you want to make them feel better, you should make a point of telling them, “I like you.”
This track starts of with Chris kicking in the drums, then my acoustic guitar, followed by Julie’s bass rumbling down the fretboard before the electric guitar kicks in. I love the energy of this track and the precision of Reed’s production. When I first heard his final mix I felt like I was hearing the song for the first time and, for me at least, this vacuum-packed song retains its freshness on repeated listens.
I like the sounds that you make When you make a mistake Or you make the kind of love that Nobody can fake I like the smell of your skin When your patience wears thin And there's so much to do you don't know Where to begin I like the thought of your soul Going out of control When you get fired up When you get on a roll I like nothing as much as I like Nothing as much as I like Nothing as much as I like you I like the look of your smile When your life's a pile Of confusion you wear Like it's the latest style I like the cross and the blood And the tears and the mud And the way your walls crack When you can't hold back the flood I like nothing as much as I like Nothing as much as I like Nothing as much as I like you I like cats and the zoo I like everything we do And if there's more life after death I bet I'll like that too I like grass, trees, Everything that makes you sneeze, And the way you get wet When you get on your knees I like nothing as much as I like Nothing as much as I like Nothing as much as I like you
