The Fall

I’m always a little suspicious of people who say the fall is their favorite season. For all the excuses about foliage and pumpkin spice everything, it is still the season of death, the time of year when large portions of the living world shrivel and prepare for hibernation.

This year is different. This Fall will see a presidential election unlike any we have seen before. Let’s hope that the winds of change blow through this season and bring us love and mercy, justice and faith.

Faith in the truth
Faith in scientists
Faith in journalists
Faith in police and judges
Faith in teachers and even politicians
Faith in ourselves and each other

If nothing else, let’s have some faith in the healing power of music, like this piece out of Italy from a little over 300 years ago, celebrating this turbulent season. Hope to see you all in better days on the other side of it…
