Day 49 – Total confirmed cases in US: 1,133,069
This is a good time to keep your eyes wide. Like a cat in the dark, there are many things, unseen by most, that can nourish you and help you grow if you can find them. For those who can see the inevitable changes coming to our society, there is a profit for the taking. For smaller imaginations, that profit is financial. Those with their eyes on bigger prizes might see the dawn of greater rewards, ones that can’t be measured with money.
I wrote this song a couple of weeks ago and recorded it yesterday. It’s got a touch of Cat Stevens’ “Father & Son” to it – two generations taking turns singing to each other. For both of them, the advice is the same: keep your eyes wide.
Keep your eyes wide, my son
These days will only be here once
Sometimes the dream that comes true
Is not the one you were expecting to
Because dreams work that way
Because dreams work that way
I’ve had enough solitude for now
And enough staring at screens
For the rest of my life
For the rest of my life
Keep your shirt on, old man
This is not the way to the promised land
But I can see it from here
Keep your eyes wide, it will become clear
Because love works that way
Because love works that way
I’ve had enough solitude for now
And enough listening to fools
For the rest of my life
For the rest of my life
