Just as there is only one love, that takes many forms, so there is only one hate, and it takes just as many forms. It even convinces some people that it is a form of love, but the differences are deep and immediate.
Just as virtue is its own reward, a heart filled with hate is its own punishment.
While it is tempting to let hate tip our scales during these difficult days, let’s only hate ignorance and bigotry, not the people who possess them. After all, every one of us is ignorant of many things.
Maybe we should just get together (with proper social distancing) and feel alright…
