
Thirty-nine years ago on this date – it was a Monday, like this one – I found a new kind of love. It wasn’t like any of the kinds of love I’d know to that point but it felt like it included all of them. It transcended each of them and brought them back to life with a newer, fresher glow.
It was happiness. It was God. It was eternity.
Once you have touched eternity it is almost impossible to lift your finger from it, even if holding on to it burns like ten thousand suns.
I still see that eternity in your eyes, my love. I cannot stop seeing it.
