I played this song last night at Pete’s Candy Store in Brooklyn. I wrote it last summer; it was the first song I wrote after quitting Late Model Humans. It’s called Little Pink Shoes.
Any time she hears bad news
She just puts on her little pink shoes
And this world of decay
Turns into one she can dance away
Every time she gets the blues
She just puts on her little pink shoes
And gives herself another chance
To spin the world ’round in a dance
And she looks so cute
She’s got love to burn
She’s got little pink shoes
And a lot to learn
She’s not going to work today
‘Cause something’s standing in her way
She’s taken all that she can get
And turned a perfect pirouette
And she looks so cute
She’s got love to burn
She’s got little pink shoes
And a lot to learn
And she looks so sweet
Like she can’t be real
She’s got little pink shoes
And a heart to steal
I’m going to steal it
And her little pink shoes
