When you put a convicted felon in charge of your criminal justice system, you know what’s going to happen: he will pardon people who commit crimes on his behalf, or who commit crimes and give him a lot of money, and he will file charges against any lawyer, district attorney, or judge who tries to hold him accountable for his crimes. Then he will build an army of thugs who hide their identity and brutalize anyone they feel like brutalizing because they know he has their back.
