Today, like every other day, we wake up empty and frightened.

Take down a musical instrument.
Let the beauty we love be what we do. – Rumi
There are a lot of mornings when I take Rumi’s advice on the musical instrument front. I went a different direction today but kept to the spirit of his insight. I dug out my old art kit from high school.

Inside a watercolor set were my old brushes.

Some of them more familiar than others, but I recognized one scraggly old friend

Spying my nearby basil plant, Mr. Fawlty

I put that brush to use again.
