Three years ago today I started this blog with the post “(Just Like) Starting Over.” It’s not an easy thing to start over but it’s necessary when the path you’re on hits a dead end. By the age of three, most of us have mastered the whole walking-and-talking thing, even if distances are difficult for little legs, and not all of the words make sense. All languages sound foreign until you do the painstaking work of assembling a vocabulary, one word at a time.
Here’s a song that doesn’t have a lot of words but the ones it has are good and hopeful. With words and melody that even a 3 year old can understand, here’s Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds.”

Don’t worry about a thing,
‘Cause every little thing gonna be alright.
Singing’ “Don’t worry about a thing,
‘Cause every little thing gonna be alright!”
Rise up this morning
Smiled with the rising sun,
Three little birds
Pitch by my doorstep
Singing sweet songs
Of melodies pure and true,
Saying, “This is my message to you”
Don’t worry about a thing,
‘Cause every little thing gonna be alright.
